For the partnering organizations of Thriving Hearts
This year’s gathering, From Groundwork to Impact: Reset & Refresh, is a chance to reconnect, celebrate the work happening across our partnership, share what we’re learning, and help shape what’s next.
Here’s a little of what to look forward to:
We’ll hear project updates and impact stories, celebrate our teams, explore interactive intervention team posters, and spend time in conversation about the challenges and opportunities ahead. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to connect, share your perspective, and help identify next steps together.
One special thing to bring: A photo that represents YOUR WHY. We are leading a Photovoice activity, to honor your why and personal story. Please bring a photo that represents why you do this work. It might be a family member, a birth experience, someone you’ve supported, or a moment that has stayed with you. You can bring a printed photo or simply have it ready on your phone. We’ll share our photos and stories in small groups as a way to connect with one another.
When and Where
Alamance Dream Center, 1423 N. Church Street, Burlington, NC 27217
What should I bring?
Just yourself, your Photovoice photo (digital or printed), and your ideas! You’re also welcome to bring organizational resources to share with fellow partners.
What about parking and arrival?
Parking on site and nearby is available at no charge. Check out the attached parking map to see available lots. Please plan to arrive before 9 a.m. to check in, grab breakfast, and connect with fellow partners.
Will meals be provided?
Yes! Breakfast and lunch will be provided. We’ll break for lunch around noon, with time to eat, connect, and recharge.
What can I expect throughout the day?
Our program includes a mindful moment, Photovoice conversations, project updates, team recognition, interactive intervention team posters, and collaborative action planning. We’ll also have a communications session to gather your feedback and explore ways to strengthen our shared work. We’ll have a mindful moment. This can also be a moment of reflection for our work – and centering people, families, lived experience, and history.
The day is intentionally designed to create connections across counties, roles and parts of the project. Come ready to meet someone new, learn what others are working on and share what you’re seeing in your own community.
Come prepare to discuss: Think about:
- What are you seeing or learning through your work right now?
- Where are you seeing Thriving Hearts begin to connect or take shape?
- What would help you better understand, communicate or engage with the work going forward?
Will there be photography or recording?
We’re planning on-site photography and videography to capture moments and stories from the gathering, including a group photo! If you have concerns about appearing in photos or recordings, please let our team know in advance.
What if I need accommodations?
We want everyone to feel comfortable and included. Please connect with Kennedy Bridgets in advance for details about on-site lactation space, wheelchair access, hearing or vision accommodations, or other support so we can coordinate arrangements.
What is the dress code?
Business casual – we want you to feel comfortable!
We will not have temperature control. Please bring layers! Our gathering is planned indoors. Please check the Burlington forecast before traveling and watch your email for any weather-related updates.
We’re excited to have the Thriving Hearts partnership together and to spend the day reconnecting to the work, each other and what comes next.
